What is Civil Drilling?
Civil Drills (CD) are oil industry land rigs modified from their original purposein O&G to be used in civil construction. CD rigs are built to work at just 3-5 degrees from horizontal, permitting low build rates (and consequently low torque and drag) on drill string. The low drag on the drill string permits agressive drilling in depths from 200′ – 800′ below surface grade. With diameters up to 24”. Best of all – CD is designed to scale up in diameter, distance, speed and efficiency. Civil Drilling (CD) utilizes oil industry land rigs transformed from their application in Oil & amp; Gas to work in trenchless utility construction. Until now, ‘Slant Rigs’ had limited bore and range in utility construction.
